Librería de Satoshi has rebranded as ISMOS and launched a global platform for technical education in Bitcoin and open-source technologies. The organization plans to grow local learning hubs and offer training in participants’ languages, with the stated ambition of helping train one million Bitcoin developers worldwide.

Since 2021, ISMOS says it has reached more than 3,665 people across over 40 countries and provided financial support to 30 open-source developers. The initiative began as a Spanish-language Bitcoin school in Latin America and has since expanded into a broader education ecosystem.

Its programs combine structured courses, mentorship and fellowships. Current teaching languages are Spanish, Portuguese and English, with additional languages planned. Topics include Bitcoin, cryptography, cybersecurity, mathematics, artificial intelligence, Nostr, open-source software and open AI models.

ISMOS says its platform is open source, with tools available to developers on GitHub. Its current main supporters are Btrust and the Human Rights Foundation; OpenSats and the Gemini Opportunity Fund have also provided smaller grants in the past, according to the announcement.

The organization also aims to offer individualized support through initiatives including Bitcoin 4 Open Source (B4OS), fellowships and developer residencies. Its founder and CEO, Dulce Villarreal, said the expansion is intended to address language barriers and broaden access to technical opportunities.
